I tried installing Java and it said it couldnt because the windows installer could not be accessed. It's worth investigating, as one of the symptoms includes the error ""The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... I also tried installing one update at a time to see if that was maybe an issue, but nothing updates/installs, whether it's all the updates or just one at a time. SOS!
