Everything seem to be working fairly well and I can get all of my backup jobs to succeed except for the "Computer\System Protection" backups. But I found a solution that seems to work and that is to remove System state and BMR from the protection groups and then delete the existing replicas. I have 5 Hyper-V hosts, 3 with Windows Server 2008 R2, 2 with Windows Server 2012 (which is a huge improvement for Hyper-V). 2 of the 2008 R2 hosts and the I hope someday the application will break out of this vicious circle.
