niteprlr, This should KILL ALL references to the game software in the registry for you. Windows Installer keeps popping up and starts the install routine for a game that I had installed and uninstalled months ago. I have to click "cancel" about 15 to 20 times to get it to stop. Using AutoRuns, I narrowed it down to the only likely suspect that I could find which was the Install Shield Update Manager Service. The game is not in the Add/Remove Programs list, does not show up in the registry anywhere (via a search) and I have run registry cleaners to try and correct the Thanks in advance!

Kindest Regards, Rick P. You might need to make sure that your window is displaying allfiles, even hidden ones, cause sometimes those files can hide and you wont be able to delete them unless you PLEASE HELP!!!! By the way what the name of that game???

Thanks Lighthouse, and everyone else that offered assistance. Use search function by typing in Name of game, Author of game or (ANYTHING) which identifies the game software you installed. Post back with results. Nothing is working to fix this problem! I finally solved it (so far anyhow). I have it disabled, and so far, so good.

I'm trying the fixes recommended here and will backup the reg, reboot and login and let all of you know the result. Check in Startup folder and in System configuration utility(msconfig).
