On the working servers the certification path was showing up correctly but on these 2 non-working servers the certification path was showing error. Out of way I went to the Digicert Onsearchcomplete - Failed To End Search Job. Error = 0x80072f8f. But from my experience I know that this Automatic Update will require public DNS resolution and direct internet connectivity (without a proxy). Since I was still having the same issue but resolved one issue...I kept the thread open. If the WSUS server is 2012 R2 the problem doesn't occur.
