I am troubleshooting this issue, and came across this comment. Unfortunately switching remote desktop on and allowing any connections is not changing anything. After you remove the certificate, uninstall the Extender, and then restart Extender Setup. After a long hiatus of using Windows Media Center, I went to watch a movie in my media library through my Xbox 360.

It says "Finding Windows Media Center PC" then "Downloading", then the screen blacks out and it shows the WMC logo and the text "Windows Media Center". Now the weird thing is on my xbox, in the system settings, there are two test options, one to test a pc connection and one to test a media center connection.
